Liquidation at the Klohäuschen, Munich Germany
29th July.2010, 7pm
WHITE MARKET Liquidation
Concluding performance at the Klohäuschen, International Fruit Market Munich
During the previous days WHITE MARKET interventions had led to a set of relics, including little plush animal heads, which had been severed from the bodies and mounted on red strips of wood. The original weight of each animal had been marked on the strips of wood below each head.
For the final event the artists turned the WHITE MARKET stall into a fairground stall, setting the animal heads up as targets and other relics as trophies. Visitors and passers-by were invited to take part in a hoopla game to win prizes.
Participants purchased five fruit stamps which allowed them to throw five rings aiming for the animal heads. If a participant had two equal fruit stamps in her set of stamps she could throw an extra ring.
With each successful throw players were able to add up the weight written under each of the heads; achieving less than 50 grams they received a prize of category 1, achieving between 50 and 100 grams they received category 2 and category 3 was awarded for 100 grams and more. Category 1 and 2 consisted of traditional market paper bags, which had been filled with further relics of the performances and with decoration from the WHITE MARKET stall. Category 3 consisted of skins of the plush animals, which had been stamped, signed and sown into transparent folders.
